LEAD SYSTEMS ENGINEER *Position Type:* Permanant *Schedule:* Full-Time | On-Site *Experience:* 7+ years preferred *Compensation:* Competitive hourly rate based on experience, technical qualifications, and clearance We are seeking a highly experienced *Lead Systems Engineer* to provide technical leadership and engineering expertise in support of complex defense and aerospace systems. POSITION SUMMARY The Lead Systems Engineer will provide technical leadership throughout the *systems engineering lifecycle*, including requirements development, architecture, integration, verification and validation, testing, troubleshooting, and system deployment. The successful candidate will work closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams, software developers, network engineers, program leadership, customers, and technical stakeholders to develop reliable and mission-ready solutions. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES * Lead systems engineering activities from requirements through integration, testing, and deployment. * Develop, analyze, and maintain system-level requirements and requirements traceability. * Lead system architecture, design, integration, verification, and validation activities. * Translate customer and mission requirements into technical solutions. * Perform technical analysis, trade studies, and system-level assessments. * Lead troubleshooting and root-cause analysis of complex hardware/software systems. * Coordinate with software, network, infrastructure, cybersecurity, and other engineering teams. * Develop system specifications, architecture documentation, interface definitions, test plans, and technical reports. * Support system integration and testing across complex distributed environments. * Monitor system performance, reliability, availability, scalability, and maintainability. * Participate in technical design reviews and customer presentations. * Identify technical risks and develop mitigation strategies. * Provide technical mentorship and leadership to engineering personnel. * Support mission-critical systems operating in secure and regulated environments. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS * Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical field. * *7+ years of relevant systems engineering or software engineering experience.* * Demonstrated experience with systems integration, testing, verification, validation, and troubleshooting. * Strong understanding of system architecture and requirements management. * Experience working with complex hardware/software systems. * Experience developing technical documentation and engineering specifications. * Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. * Excellent written and verbal communication skills. * Ability to work *100% on-site in Greenville, Texas*.
