Mechanical Engineer
Our client is seeking a Supplier Mechanical Engineer to support the sourcing, purchasing, and management of critical components and materials for advanced nuclear energy projects. This role will support the Engineering team with supplier research, vendor outreach, contract tracking, purchase order processing, and record keeping. This role will sit at the intersection between engineering and procurement.The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and eager to contribute in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.Key Duties & Responsibilities:Support supplier research and selection by identifying potential vendors and evaluating their alignment with our clients quality and reliability standardsAssist in managing supplier contracts, tracking key dates, monitoring compliance, and helping to resolve issues as neededProcess purchase orders accurately and in a timely manner, ensuring they align with budget requirements and departmental needsMaintain organized records of procurement activities, including purchase orders, contracts, and correspondenceCoordinate closely with engineering, R&D, and finance teams to understand procurement needs and ensure timely delivery of materials and servicesContribute to the continuous improvement of procurement processes and documentationOther duties as assignedQualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field is preferredStrong organizational skills and high attention to detailEffective verbal and written communication skillsTeam-oriented mindset and ability to collaborate across departmentsProficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)Basic understanding of procurement or supply chain principles is preferredPrior internship or part-time experience in procurement, operations, or supply chain is preferredExposure to procurement software platforms or tools is preferred
