Epsilon is a leader in the Off-Site Construction (OSC) industry, delivering mechanical/electrical-centric systems in a modular, prefabricated form, optimized for a streamlined on-site completion by us or others.Job SummaryThe Industrial Painter is responsible for surface preparation, coating application, and finishing of structural steel, piping, equipment skids, and prefabricated modular assemblies produced within the OSC facility. This role ensures all painted products meet company quality standards, project specifications, and safety requirements while supporting production schedules.Job Duties & ResponsibilitiesClean, sand, grind, blast, or otherwise prepare metal and fabricated components for coatingMask and protect areas not requiring paintInspect surfaces for defects, oil, rust, mill scale, and contaminantsVerify readiness prior to coating applicationApply primers, intermediate, and finish coats using spray systems, rollers, and brushesOperate airless, conventional, and plural component spray equipmentMaintain proper film thickness per specifications (DFT/WFT)Mix coatings accurately according to manufacturer requirementsRead and interpret paint specifications, drawings, and work ordersPerform visual inspections and thickness measurementsCorrect defects such as runs, orange peel, dry spray, and holidaysCoordinate with QA/QC when requiredWork with fabrication, assembly, and logistics teams to meet delivery schedulesStage finished assemblies for shipmentMaintain paint booth organization and material inventoryFollow all OSHA and plant safety proceduresProperly use PPE including respirators, suits, gloves, and eye protectionHandle coatings, solvents, and hazardous materials safelyMaintain housekeeping to prevent fire and contamination risksJob QualificationsIndustrial painting experience (steel fabrication, modular construction, manufacturing, or heavy equipment preferred)Knowledge of coating systems (epoxy, urethane, intumescent, etc.)Experience with spray equipment and paint booth operationsAbility to read drawings and specificationsStrong attention to detail and workmanship standardsAbility to lift 50 lbs and work on ladders or elevated platformsNACE / SSPC coating experienceExperience painting mechanical/electrical skids or modular systemsForklift or overhead crane familiarityBasic knowledge of surface prep standards (SP-2, SP-6, etc.)Performance ExpectationsMeets production throughput targetsMaintains rework rates below department thresholdDemonstrates consistent coating qualityFollows safety and housekeeping standardsWorks collaboratively across OSC production teamsWork EnvironmentIndoor manufacturing facilityExposure to paint fumes, noise, and industrial equipmentUse of paint booths and ventilation systemsOvertime as required to meet project deadlinesReporting StructureReports to: Paint Supervisor / Production ManagerWorks closely with: Fabrication, Assembly, QA/QC, Materials
