Job Title: Graphic designer-Signage & Wayfinding ResourceJob Location: Port of Miami, FLType of Hire : ContractDuration: 6 months to a 1 yearMode of interview - VirtualProcess: 2-3 interviews JD -The Assistant Owner’s Representative for Signage & Wayfinding supports the Lead Owner’s Representative in managing the planning, design, coordination, and execution of signage and wayfinding scope on behalf of Ownership. This role focuses on day-to-day coordination, documentation, reviews, and follow-through to ensure signage and wayfinding systems are delivered accurately, efficiently, and in alignment with Ownership goals, brand standards, budget, and schedule.The position serves as a key liaison between Ownership, consultants, and project teams, helping translate strategy into execution while maintaining high standards of quality and user experience.Key ResponsibilitiesProject & Team SupportSupport the Lead Owner’s Representative in all aspects of signage and wayfinding scope oversight.Assist in preparing agendas, meeting notes, action items, and follow-ups related to signage coordination meetings.Track open items, decisions, and approvals to ensure timely resolution.Design Coordination & ReviewAssist in reviewing wayfinding strategies, sign location plans, message schedules, and design packages for consistency and completeness.Help coordinate feedback from Ownership and brand stakeholders and consolidate comments for consultants.Maintain organized records of design iterations, approvals, and revisions.Budget & Schedule TrackingSupport tracking of signage budgets, cost estimates, and change requests.Assist with schedule tracking, milestone coordination, and delivery timelines related to signage scope.Flag potential scope gaps, cost risks, or schedule impacts to the Lead.Consultant & Vendor CoordinationCoordinate with signage consultants, graphic designers, architects, and contractors under direction of the Lead.Assist with review and logging of shop drawings, submittals, samples, and mockups.Help prepare comparison matrices, summaries, and recommendations for Ownership review.Regulatory & Compliance SupportAssist in tracking ADA, life safety, and jurisdictional requirements related to signage and wayfinding.Support documentation and submission processes for permits and approvals as required.Fabrication & Installation SupportAssist with fabrication reviews, finish samples, and quality checks.Participate in site walks, installation reviews, and punch list activities related to signage scope.Help compile as-built drawings, message schedules, and closeout documentation.QualificationsRequiredBachelor’s degree in Architecture, Environmental Design, Graphic Design, Construction Management, or related field — or equivalent experience.3–6+ years of experience in signage, wayfinding, environmental graphics, design coordination, or owner’s representative support roles.Familiarity with signage design processes, fabrication methods, and installation sequencing.Strong organizational, documentation, and communication skills.PreferredExperience supporting owner-side or developer-led projects.Exposure to large-scale or multi-project developments.Knowledge of ADA signage requirements and basic life safety considerations.Key Skills & CompetenciesDetail-oriented with strong follow-throughClear written and verbal communicationAbility to manage multiple tasks and prioritiesCollaborative and proactive problem-solverComfortable working across design, construction, and ownership teamsSuccess MeasuresAccurate tracking and coordination of signage scope itemsTimely reviews and approvals with minimal reworkClear documentation and communication across teamsSmooth support of the Lead Owner’s Representative resulting in on-time, on-budget
