We are seeking an experienced Insurance Follow Up Specialist to join our healthcare revenue cycle team. The Insurance Follow Up Specialist will be responsible for managing outstanding insurance claims, resolving denials, and ensuring timely reimbursement from insurance carriers. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.ResponsibilitiesReview and follow up on outstanding insurance claims to ensure prompt paymentInvestigate and resolve denied or underpaid claims with insurance providersContact insurance companies regarding claim status, appeals, and payment discrepanciesDocument all account activity and updates accurately within the systemWork closely with billing and collections teams to resolve outstanding balancesSubmit corrected claims and supporting documentation as neededMonitor aging reports and prioritize accounts for follow-upMaintain knowledge of payer guidelines, policies, and reimbursement proceduresQualificationsPrevious experience as an Insurance Follow Up Specialist or within medical billing, healthcare collections, or revenue cycle managementStrong understanding of insurance claims, denials, EOBs, and appeals processesExperience working with commercial insurance, Medicare, and Medicaid claimsExcellent communication and problem-solving skillsStrong organizational skills and attention to detailAbility to manage multiple accounts and deadlines efficientlyThe ideal Insurance Follow Up Specialist will be proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of maintaining positive relationships with insurance representatives while aggressively pursuing claim resolution.
