Buffet Cook/Prep Cook
Laurelville Retreat Center is looking for a Chef/Cook to join our team in Mount Pleasant, PA!
Responsibilities:
Laurelville, a year-round, Christian retreat center seeks a Chef/Cook to prepare guest meals and lead DH/Dish staff as shift manager. Weekends are required and some weekdays may be available. Shifts are flexible as Laurelville prepares over 50,000 breakfasts, lunches and dinners per year! Preference will be given to applicants who are flexible with availability.
Reports to: Food Service Director
Works directly with: Food Service Director & Chef Manager
l. Minimum Qualifications
A. "Can Do" attitude
B. Two years group cooking experience
C. Reliable! If prone to call-offs, this position is not a good fit.
D. Current ServSafe certification preferred, willing to train.
E. Ability to work 8-hour shifts, and physically carry out duties of a commercial kitchen.
F. Background history check is required for all new hires.
ll. Responsibilities
· Ensures quality preparation of all menu items and proper handling/storage of all food items in accordance and compliance with ServSafe standards
· Adheres to menu and dietary needs
· Manages kitchen staff team effectively, directing them as needed while preparing food
· Maintains knowledge of and follows Laurelville policies and procedures
ll. Supervisory
· Provides dish room and dining hall staff supervision
· Willing to supervise and direct staff with special needs exceptionalities
