Vending Technician - Key Machines
RISING GIANT IN AUTOMOTIVE INDUSTRY SEEKS A VENDING TECHNICIAN FOR KEY MACHINES
We’re a successful fast growing company based in Louisville, Kentucky. We’re growing rapidly, undergoing a national expansion. In the past five years, we’ve grown from 60 employees to over 400. We’ve averaged 50% revenue growth each year over the past 8 years. We’re looking for an experienced Technician to help play an important part in our growth.
The primary function of the Vending Technician - Key Machines is to be responsible for the technical oversight of both vended and non-vended key machines in the defined area within the US. This position owns installing, maintaining, and upgrading these machines in the field.
Reporting to the System Manager - Field Quality, who is a member of the R&D Team. You will interface regularly with our internal operations team, engineering team, and customers in the field. Your mission will be to become a company technical expert, the voice of the customer, and the service and training contact for your assigned service area. You will need to dive into the details, interfacing directly with the operators and with machines in the field in order to understand, root cause, and drive to closure technical failures. You will need to partake in technical training as well as review, critique, test and advise on new products, prototype parts, and upgrades prior to rollout. You will be expected to regularly suggest and request enhancements to service protocols, procedures, and systems that will simplify the management and maintenance of the machines.
This work will involve reporting to the corporate office daily. It will require local and regional travel with some nights working away from home.
Key Responsibilities:
To be responsible for machine reliability and availability in your maintenance area
To undertake where necessary, installs and removals of equipment
To interface with the machine operators to identify areas of improvement
To deliver feedback with proposed solutions on any issues or concerns to the Systems Engineer
To attend to breakdowns as required and to document and rectify those that other staff are unable to deal with
To identify and investigate repeated or high breakdown levels on any machine. Identifying any breakdown trends and recommend remedial action
To monitor key identification rates, investigating trends and suggesting, advocating for fixes where necessary
To reduce breakdowns by suggesting and advocating for reliability improvements, expanded remote diagnostic capabilities, and data accuracy
Use, recommend, and advocate for improvements of the remote telemetry system to monitor your machines
To test and critique prototype parts, upgrades and proposed technical procedures
To take part in regular team meetings to communicate issues, patterns of failures, suggest and advocate for improvements, as well as understand upcoming upgrades/design changes
To monitor refund levels in your maintenance area, liaising with team leaders to arrange any necessary intervention or action to rectify this
To undertake any training as deemed necessary by the company
To identify and communicate training needs of operators and bring them to the attention of the area trainer
To undertake any other task deemed necessary by the company

Essential Requirements:
Excellent communication and documentation skills
Self-starter who is able to work on his or her own without supervision
Must have and maintain a valid driver's license and an acceptable and safe driving record
Capability to lift over fifty pounds
Experience driving large box truck or the ability to pull a enclosed trailer
Qualifications:
Proven technical experience with electromechanical systems is essential when applying for this role, Field service experience a distinct advantage
Current qualification in Electrical Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Mechatronics Engineering Technology OR Equivalent Experience
Must have experience troubleshooting mechanical/electrical equipment and responding to customer concerns
5+ years of related experience
Computer skills: Proficient in Word, Excel, Windows OS, and email
