Certified Payroll and Compliance Specialist

A large heavy civil GC and energy construction company, is seeking an experienced Certified Payroll & Labor Compliance Administrator to join their growing team. This role is critical in ensuring compliance across prevailing wage and public works projects, with a strong focus on certified payroll reporting, regulatory adherence, and audit readiness. Key Responsibilities:Administer certified payroll compliance for prevailing wage and public works construction projectsPrepare, review, and submit weekly certified payroll reports in accordance with contract requirementsManage submissions through platforms such as LCPtracker, EBO, Empact, Compass, and the NYS DOL PortalReview payroll data to ensure accurate prevailing wage classifications and wage determinationsMonitor federal, state, and local prevailing wage laws and contract-specific compliance requirementsIdentify, track, and resolve payroll discrepancies, rejections, and reporting errorsPartner with payroll and project teams to ensure accurate and timely reportingMaintain organized records for audits, regulatory reviews, and compliance documentationTrack project deadlines to ensure timely submission of all certified payroll reportsMaintain supporting documentation including fringe benefits, apprentice ratios, and worker classificationsQualifications:3+ years of experience in certified payroll reporting or labor complianceMulti-state certified payroll compliance experienceHands-on experience with systems such as LCPtracker, EBO, Empact, Compass, or NYS DOL PortalStrong knowledge of prevailing wage laws and public works reporting requirementsExperience reviewing payroll data for proper labor classifications and complianceHighly detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlinesProficiency in Microsoft Excel and compliance/reporting toolsConstruction or infrastructure industry experience preferredCertified Payroll Professional (CPP) or similar certification is a plusExperience supporting government-funded or public works projects preferredCompensation & Benefits:Base Salary: $70,000 – $100,000Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, and life insurance401(k) with employer matchHealth Savings Account (HSA) and Dependent Care FSAPaid Time Off and company holidaysOpportunities for professional growth and advancementCollaborative, team-oriented environment
