Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Formulation Chemist to join our innovative team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, optimizing, and validating formulations for a wide range of pet supplements, ensuring they meet the highest standards of safety, efficacy, and palatability.
Key Responsibilities:
Formulation Development: Develop and optimize formulations for pet supplements, including soft chews, powders, and tablets, ensuring product efficacy, stability, and palatability.
Ingredient Research: Research and evaluate new ingredients and raw materials that enhance product performance, safety, and compliance with regulatory standards.
Stability Testing: Conduct stability studies to ensure product integrity and quality over the product's shelf life.
Scale-Up & Production: Collaborate with production teams to scale up formulations from lab-scale to full-scale manufacturing, troubleshooting any issues that arise during the process.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all formulations comply with relevant industry regulations, such as FDA, AAFCO, and GMP standards, and maintain accurate and detailed documentation.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with quality control, production, packaging, and marketing teams to bring new products to market.
Problem Solving: Identify and resolve formulation challenges related to ingredient compatibility, processing, and product stability.
Continuous Improvement: Stay informed on industry trends, regulatory updates, and emerging technologies to drive innovation in product development.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry, Nutrition, Food Science, or a related field.
Minimum 3 years of experience in formulation development, preferably in the supplement, health, or nutraceutical industry.
Strong knowledge of specific ingredients, including vitamins, minerals, botanicals, and flavorings.
Experience with stability testing, ingredient interactions, and manufacturing processes for supplements.
Familiarity with industry regulations, including FDA, AAFCO, and GMP.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in formulating soft chews and supplements.
Familiarity with analytical techniques such as HPLC, GC-MS, or other relevant tools.
Knowledge of veterinary science or nutrition.
