Find your future with us.Boeing Global Services (BGS) is currently seeking an Associate Mechanical System Design & Analysis Engineer to become part of the Ground Support Mechanical Design Team in Berkeley, Mo.The Ground Support Mechanical Design Team is responsible for the design and development of mechanical military support equipment.This position will use provided strength input / guidance, analysis to improve the mechanical design of the support equipment that the team is designing. In addition, the team will be incorporating drawing changes and working with suppliers to deliver the hardware.This position will primarily support a variety of military aircraft platforms, such as F-15, F/A-18, T-7, B-52, MQ-25, AAS, and others. Occasional travel to suppliers may be required to witness acceptance tests or discuss fabrication and design issues.Position Responsibilities:Supports proposal preparation and new business development effortsMake engineering design recommendations based on analysis, loads, material properties, configurations, safety factors, etcSupport internal, informal peer reviews and formal design reviews as neededEvaluate supplier hardware non-conformances and material substitutionsSupport internal, informal peer reviews and formal design reviews as neededSupports the development and documentation of mechanical and fluid systemsSupports the development, maintenance or modification of system designs/proposals to provide design documentation and high-level requirements to downstream users/customers/suppliersPerforms detail design development and modification of mechanical and fluid systemsAssists in preparing technical documents for mechanical components and systemsWorks under general supervisionPerforms other duties as assignedBasic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus on Mechanical, Aerospace Aeronautical or Material Sciences)1+ years' experience as a design engineer1+ years' experience developing 3D CAD models and/or drawingsExperience working in a cross-functional environmentPreferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):Experience with Siemens NX 3D modeling and drawing softwareGeneral familiarity with mechanical support equipmentGeneral knowledge of fabrication methods for mechanical hardware, such as machining, welding, processing and assemblyFamiliarity with mechanical and strength analysisStrong communication and interpersonal skillsWillingness to travel domestically as neededConflict of Interest:Successful candidates for this job must satisfy the Company's Conflict of Interest (COI) assessment process.Drug Free Workplace:Boeing is a Drug Free Workplace where post offer applicants and employees are subject to testing for marijuana, cocaine, opioids, amphetamines, PCP, and alcohol when criteria is met as outlined in our policies.Pay & Benefits:At Boeing, we strive to deliver a Total Rewards package that will attract, engage and retain the top talent.
