Salary: $16.00 HourlyLocation : Florida, United StatesJob Type: Part-TimeJob Number: 00804Division: Library E & G-SharedOpening Date: 04/07/2026Closing Date: 3/31/2027 11:59 PM EasternDescriptionThis opportunity is for on-site archival interns who will be responsible for performing processing of analog collections, drafting finding aids, creating a physical archival display, digitizing analog items, uploading and adding metadata to JBC Commons, as well as work with on-site researchers for appointments in the reading room.Examples of DutiesStudents will be supervised by campus archivists. They will be introduced to the "More product, less process" archival accessioning practice and will also learn the basics of archiving best practices from the Society of American Archivists guidelines. They will handle a potential collection from the preliminary processing stage to finished collection in the archives, under supervised practice. They will also be expected to select a topic to research and display in one display case as an archival exhibit.Basic knowledge of digitization, digital preservation, and primary research processProcess of converting analog to digital formatUnderstanding of archival principles, processing, and cataloging collectionsCollaborating in-person and asynchronously on a variety of projectsApply archival principles when assessing, organizing, and processing analog collections.Make informed decisions about arrangement, description, and digitization workflowsDraft clear finding aids and descriptive meta data for archival materials.
