TitleSummer Camp DirectorReports to:Director of Federal Programs/Student ServicesTerm of Employment:Summer June 1-July 2, 2026Salary:$35/hourGeneral Statement of Job:The Summer Camp Director will provide overall leadership, supervision, and management of the Summer 2026 Taking Flights Soaring to New Heights Summer Enrichment Program. The Director is responsible for ensuring the successful planning, implementation, and daily operation of a high-quality academic and enrichment program serving students in grades one through eight.The Camp Director will oversee staff, coordinate daily schedules, support instructional programming, and ensure a safe, engaging, and inclusive environment for all students and staff. This role requires strong leadership, organization, communication, and problem-solving skills.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESMAJOR FUNCTION: Management of Instructional TimeThe teacher has materials, supplies, and equipment for each lesson ready at the start of the lesson or instructional activity; gets the class started quickly; gets students on task quickly at the beginning of each lesson; maintains a high level of student time-on-task.MAJOR FUNCTION: Management of Student BehaviorThe teacher has established a set of rules and procedures that govern the handling of routine administrative matters; has established a set of rules and procedures that govern student verbal participation and talk during different types of activities-whole-class instruction, small group instruction, etc.; has established a set of rules and procedures that govern student movement in the classroom during different types of instructional and non- instructional activities; frequently monitors the behavior of all students during whole-class, small group, and seat work activities and during transitions between instructional activities; stops inappropriate behavior promptly and consistently, yet maintains the dignity of the student.MAJOR FUNCTION: Instructional PresentationProvide daily leadership and supervision of all camp operations• Supervise teachers, support staff, and work study students - Ensure timely submission of timesheets• Coordinate schedules, activities, and program logistics - Including scheduling of field trips andsubmitting required forms and reports• Support high-quality instruction across all enrichment courses - including approval of lesson plans• Ensure student safety, behavior expectations, and positive climate• Serve as the primary point of contact for families, staff, and district administration• Monitor attendance, staffing coverage, and daily routines• Address concerns and resolve issues promptly and professionally• Ensure compliance with school, district, and program policies• Support program evaluation and end-of-program reportingRequired Qualifications and SkillsExperience working with children or adolescents• Demonstrated leadership and supervisory experience• Strong organizational and time management skills• Effective communication and interpersonal skills• Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to changing needs• Commitment to creating a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment• Knowledge of enrichment, academic, or youth development programs preferred• Ability to collaborate with staff, families, and partnersDISCLAIMER
