We don’t just talk about our core values of Integrity, Transparency, and Accountability, we live them every day without compromise.Job SummaryThe Jr. Associate will assist senior attorneys with pre-litigation and litigation personal injury cases. The Jr. Associate will also build and work their own case load under the direct supervision of the Managing Attorney. In addition to our core values, we foster an environment built on teachability and mentorship. We expect all employees, from the firm owners to the entry-level staff members, to be open to learning new ideas and methods while teaching and building up others. This role requires an entry-level knowledge and understanding of civil litigation practice. Job- and firm-specific education will be provided.Specific ResponsibilitiesAssist senior attorneys with management of current cases.Build and maintain an active case load with the support and resources of the firm.Draft pre-litigation documents, such as insurance demands and counter-demands, expert and lay witness declarations, etc.Draft litigation documents and pleadings, such as summonses and complaints, discovery requests and responses, motions, deposition preparation documents, etc.Communicate with clients, insurance adjusters, witnesses, experts, court staff, and opposing counsel.Manage client files, case progression, and legal team.Conduct legal research for demands and pleadings.Engage in external networking and community involvement opportunities.Qualifications0-3 years of civil litigation experienceLicensed to practice law in Washington or Idaho, and the willingness to seek bar admission in an additional jurisdiction.Individuals scheduled for the July 2026 bar exam are encouraged to apply.Knowledge of electronic filing systems and basic law firm technology/software (e.g., Microsoft Office applications and case management software)Authorized to work in the United StatesPersonal AttributesEmbrace Cardinal North’s core values of Integrity, Transparency, and Accountability – we have zero tolerance for behavior and actions that perpetuate the negative stereotypes of personal injury attorneysStrong work ethic – our clients expect and deserve the bestDetail oriented – success in this industry is often found in the smallest detailsTeam player – we rely on every person’s strengths to get the best result for our clientsTeachability – no one is perfect, and we all have something to learn or improveSense of humor – we can’t carry the seriousness of our profession around with us all the timeWorking Conditions$60,000-$65,000/year + 8-12% production bonuses on resolved cases (See Notes regarding compensation)Full-time, salaried positionIn-office required; Spokane, WAFree parking; near STA bus stopHealth benefits availableAnticipated start date: August 2026NotesCompensation details:Production bonuses are calculated based on attorneys’ fees realized by firm.Total financial compensation (salary + bonuses) for 2027 expected to be $85,000-$105,000.Regular salary and production bonus increases for attorneys earned based on annual performance review.Firm salary range for non-managing attorneys: $60k-$90kFirm production bonus range for non-managing attorneys: 8%-20%Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis in the order received.Cover letters are optional.
