T hi s role requires advanced expertise in software engineering, computer science, and information technology, along with the ability to lead technical teams, mentor junior engineers, and interface directly with government stakeholders. The ideal candidate will apply independent judgment, strong software engineering fundamentals, and innovative problem-solving skills to develop solutions tailored to unique government and mission requirements. R es ponsibilities De s ign, develop, test, deploy, and maintain scalable, secure, and reliable software applications and backend services. De v elop and support microservices, REST APIs, event-driven systems, and containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes. De b ug and troubleshoot complex application, integration, container, and distributed-system issues. Wr i te clean, maintainable, well-documented code in accordance with established engineering standards and best practices. Pa r ticipate in code reviews and automated testing, including unit, integration, regression, and smoke testing. Co l laborate with software engineers, systems engineers, cybersecurity personnel, program leadership, and government stakeholders to deliver mission-focused technical solutions. Pr o vide technical direction, mentorship, and guidance to junior and mid-level software engineers. De v elop and maintain technical documentation, engineering artifacts, deployment documentation, reports, and other program deliverables. Su p port Agile development processes and continuous improvement initiatives. In d ependently investigate technical problems, identify root causes, evaluate solutions, and implement corrective actions. R eq uirements Ac t ive TS/SCI clearance preferred. Candidates with an active Public Trust clearance or higher may be considered if eligible to obtain a TS/SCI clearance. 10 years in software engineering, with strong background in backend or full-stack development. St r ong proficiency with Python, including the ability to independently develop, debug, and maintain Python applications, scripts, and development tooling. St r ong working knowledge of Git and distributed version-control concepts. Pr a ctical experience building, running, debugging, and troubleshooting applications using containerized development tools. De m onstrated experience leading software development efforts and providing technical guidance to engineering teams. St r ong technical writing and documentation skills. Hi g hly Desired Qualifications Ex p erience developing in WSL, Linux, or comparable Unix-based development environments. Ex p erience designing, developing, and deploying cloud-native applications. Ex p erience implementing and supporting event-driven architectures. St r ong understanding of secure software development practices and cybersecurity principles. Pr a ctical experience working in Agile environments utilizing the Scrum framework. Sc r um-related developer certifications and demonstrated Agile development experience. Ku b ernetes certifications such as: Cer tified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) Ce r tified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD) Ex p erience developing and deploying containerized applications using Kubernetes and related technologies.
