Instructional Designer

You’ll operate with a high degree of autonomy, managing projects end-to-end while continuously improving how learning impacts performance.Job Responsibilities Design & DevelopmentDesign and develop interactive eLearning solutions using modern tools (Articulate 360, video, AI-based tools, etc.).Create scenario-based, microlearning, and blended learning experiences that drive real-world application.Ensure content is user-friendly, accessible, and aligned to business outcomes.Project OwnershipLead eLearning projects from concept through delivery with minimal supervision.Manage timelines, stakeholders, and quality to ensure successful execution.Conduct quality assurance reviews and implement continuous improvements.Stakeholder PartnershipCollaborate with subject matter experts and business partners to identify learning needs.Translate business challenges into effective learning strategies and solutions.Serve as a liaison across teams to ensure alignment, clarity, and successful delivery.Continuous Improvement & InnovationEvaluate learning effectiveness and recommend improvements based on data and feedback.Identify opportunities to enhance the learner experience across LMS/LXP platforms.Explore and implement emerging technologies to improve engagement and scalability.What Success Looks LikeLearning solutions that clearly connect to behavior change and business outcomesIncreased learner engagement and on-the-job applicationStrong partnerships where stakeholders view you as a trusted advisor—not just a content developerQualificationsBachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Education, Learning Technologies, or a related field3–5 years of experience in instructional design or corporate trainingSkills & ExperienceProficiency with modern eLearning tools, including:Articulate 360 (Storyline & Rise)Synthesia (AI video creation)Camtasia or similar video editing toolsAdobe Creative Suite (or equivalent)Experience designing interactive, scenario-based, and microlearning experiencesStrong understanding of instructional design principles, adult learning theory, and performance measurementExperience with LMS platforms and familiarity with Learning Experience Platforms (LXP)Working knowledge of SCORM, xAPI, and learning analyticsStrong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple prioritiesAbility to work independently and drive projects with minimal supervision Pay Range:$66,500.00 - $92,000.00/annuallySalary is commensurate to experience, location, etc. Horace Mann was founded in 1945 by two Springfield, Illinois, teachers who saw a need for quality, affordable auto insurance for teachers.
