This team builds and maintains services which:calculate portfolio sensitivities and value-at-risk (VaR) across many asset classespredict theoretical market outcomes based on user-defined what-if scenariosreturn risk reports for any time horizon We collaborate closely with risk managers and trading desks to measure option and rate sensitivities and create applications to monitor, manage, and report analytic measures. While previous experience in the trading and finance industry is beneficial, we're looking for talented software engineers with or without industry-specific expertise.ResponsibilitiesDesigning, developing and maintaining greenfield and legacy API, service, and application platformsTesting at the unit, functional, and integration levelCode in multiple languages, paradigms, and platformsCollaborating with various business, development, IT, and trading support teamsProvide on-call support as part of our team-wide rotationKeep open communication with our users for support, testing, and ensuring understanding of their needs QualificationsExperience with financial terminology, VaR methodology, multiple varieties of analytic measuresDesigning software for detail-oriented but non-technical finance usersFluent in functional, object-oriented, or imperative programming languagesCompetent in distributed version control, CI/CD, Docker, and Kubernetes Familiarity WithOne of the following programming languages: Elixir, Python, Java, C#, C++, RustOne of the following data formats: Parquet, Delta Lake, IcebergPricing, risk management, and portfolio analyticsExchange-traded financial assets, statistics, or financial engineeringData structures and design/analysis of algorithmsWhere LLM-assisted development accelerates progress, and where it poses risks Personal TraitsPossesses the ability to learn, adapt and growDemonstrates personal humility, respect for others, and trust in their teammatesCapable of independently driving projects to completion but prefers collaborating with teammatesExcellent problem-solving and debugging skills, but has better listening and communication skills The annual base salary range for this position is $150,000 to $175,000 depending on the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and relevant skill set. The position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.
