We are seeking an experienced and highly motivatedLicensed Professional Engineer (PE)– Mechanical or Electrical to join our dynamic team in Virginia.Position Summary
The Professional Engineer will lead the design, coordination, and execution of MEP engineering projects with a strong focus on quality, technical excellence, client satisfaction, and compliance with applicable US codes and standards. The ideal candidate should possess strong technical expertise in HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, or integrated building services along with leadership and project coordination skills.
Key Responsibilities
Mechanical PE Responsibilities
Design and review HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical systems for commercial and residential projects
Prepare load calculations, equipment sizing, and energy-efficient system designs
Develop construction drawings, specifications, and technical reports
Coordinate with architects, contractors, and multidisciplinary engineering teams
Conduct site visits, inspections, and commissioning support when required
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal codes including ASHRAE, IMC, IPC, and NFPA standards
Review shop drawings, RFIs, and submittals
Electrical PE Responsibilities
Design and review power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and low-voltage systems
Prepare electrical calculations including load analysis, panel schedules, and short circuit studies
Develop electrical plans and specifications for building projects
Coordinate with utility agencies and project stakeholders
Ensure compliance with NEC, NFPA, and applicable building codes
Support project execution, inspections, and commissioning activities
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering
Active Professional Engineer (PE) License in Virginia preferred
Minimum 5+ years of experience in MEP design and consulting
Strong knowledge of US building codes and engineering standards
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit MEP, Bluebeam, and MS Office
Excellent communication, leadership, and coordination skills
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines efficiently
Preferred Skills
Experience in healthcare, commercial, multifamily, and industrial projects
LEED accreditation or energy modeling experience is a plus
Familiarity with BIM coordination and clash detection
Strong client management and team leadership abilities
