Field Service Technician - IVA II
Summary:
A Field Service Technician – IVA II will be skilled and understand the purpose and principles of operating gate, globe, and check valves. In this role, you will be responsible for installation, connection, servicing, testing, adjustment, repair, maintenance, removal, troubleshooting, inspection, and replacement of GGC style valves.

Locate, use, and comprehend manufacturer Installation & Operation Manuals
Perform inspection to identify necessary corrective action, as authorized
Perform PMI
Assemble, test, and troubleshoot valves and other equipment per applicable codes and standards per manufacturer and customer requirements
Install instrumentation/accessories as necessary
Performing calibration of measurement equipment in accordance with internal quality procedures
Measure and record critical dimensions per manufacturer specifications
Support IVA Tech I employees through mentoring and on-the-job (OJT) training
May act in a leadership role for assigned area
Positional Requirements & Qualifications:
Education & Experience
HS Education or GED Equivalent a plus
2 - 5 years’ industry experience
Skills & Abilities
Meets all IVA Tech I qualifications and requirements
Proficient in IVA Tech I responsibilities
Successful completion of IVA Level II Written and Performance Test
Successful completion of an inspection assessment
Successful completion of all applicable Quality Standardization Procedures
Basic OSHA and TWIC card (TWIC, only if required)
Knowledge of applicable internal quality procedures
Demonstrate the ability to properly assemble and test valves/equipment of multiple GGC Valve manufacturers
Demonstrate proficient use of precision dimensional equipment (i.e. dial caliper, micrometer, etc.)
Complete certification training for use of Positive Material Identification (PMI) equipment
Demonstrate proficiency in operating of test equipment
Effective oral & written communication skills
Demonstrated “can do” attitude and excellent customer service skills

High energy, detail oriented
Ability to read and interpret documents such as master schedule, safety rules, operating instructions, drawings/prints and procedure manuals

Ability and willingness to work overtime as needed to support customer requirements and seasonal business volume
Strong history of dependability and reliability
Supervision
Minimal supervision required
Must be able to travel and have a clear driving record in accordance with company driving guidelines
Clear background check and drug/alcohol screening
Essential Physical Functions
Lifting: up to 50 pounds
Adjusting or moving objects up to 50 pounds in all directions
Lift and carry: 50 pounds for 100 feet
Bending, stooping, walking and climbing stairs
Able to pass periodic medical evaluations and respirator fit tests to ensure continued compliance with OSHA standards.
Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps
Moving self in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and confined spaces
Remaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods
Moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another
