Lighting and Sound Technician
Job Description
The Garner Performing Arts Center is seeking motivated technicians equally good with equipment and people for occasional work, primarily nights and weekends with some daytime shifts.EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:Operates audio, lighting, video and streaming equipment, and/or works backstage during events as directed by the Performing Arts Center SupervisorPrepare facility for program and participant useSets up and tears down sound, lighting, video/streaming, and rigging equipment as needed to meet the needs of each eventInteracts directly with clients to ensure all event needs are metEnforce the policies and procedures of the facilityPerforms facility maintenance as neededPerforms other related tasks as neededMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Applicants must:Be at least 18 years of age.Have a high school diploma or equivalent.Experience in live event production is required.Experience in the operation of analog audio consoles and digital lighting consoles is required.Be able to safely lift 50 lbs. and move up to 100 lbs. General stagecraft knowledge is preferred.ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:This supplemental position may be scheduled for up to 20 hours per week.Initial interviews may be conducted before the application deadline.Equal Opportunity Employer
