Lead students in experiments, investigations and explorations of CS concepts; encourage students to develop a curiosity about their world and the ability to seek out answers by gaining an understanding of CS concepts.Job ResponsibilitiesThis list is intended to be illustrative rather than complete and serves to show major duties and responsibilities and does not express or imply that these are the only duties to be performed by the employee in this position. The employee will be required to perform other duties requested by the supervisor and/or school administrator.Develops and administers CS curriculum consistent with CCS goals and objectivesPromotes a classroom environment that is safe and conducive to individualized and small group instruction, and student learningDevelops lesson plans and instructional materials and translates lesson plans into learning experiences so as to best utilize the available time for instructionConducts ongoing assessment of student learning and progress, and modifies instructional methods to fit individual student's needs, including students with special needs; conducts individual and small group instruction as neededEncourages parental involvement in students' education and ensures effective communication with students and parentsOrganizes and maintains a system for accurate and complete record-keeping, grading, and reporting for all student activities, achievement and attendance as required by CCSEnforces the CCS Student Code of Conduct, the CCS Uniform Code, and the CCS Computer Usage CodePromotes good citizenship through actions as a role modelConducts himself or herself according to professional, ethical principles that reflect favorably upon the individual and the schoolMaintains highest level of confidentiality pertaining to school and students' information, progress, and recordsAssumes other responsibilities assigned by supervisor and/or school administratorAbides by the CCS Employee Manual, CCS policies and procedures, and all current PA Public School expectationsQualificationsA four-year college degree and PA Technology Education K-12 Certification. Computer Science K-12 Certification, a plus. If certification is from a different state, PA certification must be obtained within a determined time frame.Demonstrated competence as a classroom teacherKnowledge of current teaching methods and educational pedagogy, as well as differentiated instruction based upon student learning stylesAbility to organize and coordinate workAbility to communicate effectively with students and parentsAbility to engage in self-evaluation with regard to performance and professional growthKnowledge of basic computer operations for Windows and macOS systemsExperience with learning management systems, Schoology preferredExperience with JavaScript and/or Python preferredExperience with integrated development environments and debugging requiredExperience with object-oriented programming preferredRequired Clearances include Criminal Background Clearance (Act 34), Child Abuse Clearance (Act 151), and FBI Fingerprint Clearance (Act 114), all dated within one year of receiptMeets criteria for employment in a PA Public SchoolClick here for the full job description and physical demandsYou are navigating off of REAP site to the district's posting.OK
