Lab Administrator

• Rack, build, cable, configure and provision servers.• Rack, cable and deploy Cisco Layer-2 networking equipment.• Troubleshoot, test and perform quality assurance on server hardware; resolve hardware issues via trouble tickets.• Lift equipment up to ~50 lbs and work on ladders for extended periods.• Travel to other sites when required.Desired experience:• Operating-system installation: Windows Server, Linux and Unix.• Cabling knowledge beyond basic dressing/running; understand port mapping and the purpose of each cable type.• Solid understanding of basic hardware troubleshooting and logical problem resolution.• Experience with RAID levels.• Web-server and database-installation experience is a plus.• Experience racking, cabling and deploying Cisco Layer-2 networking equipment is a plus.• MVS system-administration exposure.• Must be able to work in the United States without sponsorship.• Must be willing to learn quickly, multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
