Field Service Technician
We are seeking a technically skilled, customer-focused Field Service Technician to support clients in the Upstate, NY area. This role is ideal for a dependable, self-motivated professional who takes pride in problem-solving, communicates clearly, and consistently delivers a high level of service.Field Service Technicians are responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing specialized equipment while building strong relationships with customers. The ideal candidate is punctual, calm under pressure, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.Essential Duties & Responsibilities(Additional duties may be assigned)Provide verbal, written, and on-site technical support to clientsInstall, inspect, maintain, and repair ophthalmic diagnostic equipment, examination lane equipment, eyeglass lens edgers, frame tracers, and related accessoriesPerform preventive maintenance, remedial maintenance, and complex troubleshootingMaintain strong client relationships and ensure consistent customer satisfactionComplete and submit paperwork accurately, neatly, and on timeManage assigned company assets including tools, inventory, and vehiclesMaintain personal warehouse inventory and related documentationFollow established policies, procedures, and technical guidelinesPerform shop-based and on-site repairs, including inspecting and second-signing work completed by othersTravel as required within the service areaPhysically install equipment at client locations and provide operational and preventive maintenance training to usersQualificationsMinimum of 2 years of experience in electro-mechanical repair and troubleshootingHigh school diploma or GED requiredExperience with electronics and computer repair preferredFamiliarity with diagnostic tools and technical equipmentBasic understanding of computer networking and device connectivity (IP addressing, local networks, troubleshooting connectivity issues)Active and valid U.S. driver’s licenseAbility to work independently and manage time effectivelyProficiency with Microsoft Office or similar business softwareWillingness to participate in ongoing technical and professional trainingStrong verbal and written communication skillsWhat We OfferCompetitive salary of $65,000 + BonusStable, full-time positionHands-on technical work with specialized equipmentOpportunities for ongoing training and skill developmentSupportive, professional work environment
