Job Summary
The Manager, Outside Plant (OSP)Engineering will be responsible for managing OSP Engineering activitiesperformed by both Ziply employees and engineering vendors, ensuring that workperformed meets or exceeds quality standards and projects are completed perdesign, on-time and within the allocated budget. This position requires strongteamwork within the Construction Department, as well as cross-collaborationwith other departments across the organization.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Management
Lead an Outside Plant (OSP) Engineering team andprovide leadership and mentorship through coaching, feedback, development goalsand performance management.
Accountable for the staffing, schedules andcompliance associated with OSP engineering and construction activities, alongwith the safety and quality of work performed.
Oversee production of all engineering workorders within an assigned geographic area. Ensure engineering work orders aredesigned in compliance with all company standards, NESC, and municipalrequirements, as well as public ROW or utility easements. Confirm project costestimates are accurate. Release work orders to Construction in time to meetcommitment dates.
Manage Engineering process and documentationthrough project completion.
Permitting, Coordination & Stakeholder Engagement
Identify permitting authorities based onproposed routes including municipalities, government entities, utility ownersand any other agencies who have authority over the right-of-way in which we areproposing to construct. Oversee the completion of necessary permitapplications.
Develop, coordinate, and execute projectschedules with contractors, property management, customers, vendors, internalstakeholders, municipalities, and government agencies.
Coordinate and participate in various internalmeetings to ensure communication and alignment of initiatives, informationsharing and implementation of best practices.
Coordinate with State, local municipalities, andutilities.
Verify contractor’s invoices for accuracy andprocess to AP in a timely manner.
Other Duties
Performsother duties as required to support the business and evolving organization.
Required Qualifications
Highschool diploma or GED.
Minimumof eight (8) years of outside plant (OSP) experience, including quoting,permitting and other pre-construction activities.
Developedleadership skills, with the ability to mentor and lead others.
Experienceusing fiber optic network documentation tools.
Advancedunderstanding of the permitting process for railroad, DOT, cities, counties,and pole owners.
Must have and maintain a validdriver’s license, auto insurance, and satisfactory driving record.
Must complete a pre-employment drug screening.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Musthave computer competency including proficiency with Microsoft Suite andunderstanding of database programs.
Abilityto type minimum of 40 WPM 40.
Abilityto consistently deliver outstanding customer service to all internal andexternal customers.

Abilityto multi-task and collaborate effectively with other personnel to meetdeadlines.

Work is performed in an office setting withexposure to computer screens and requires extensive use of a computer,keyboard, mouse, and multi-line telephone system. The work is primarily amodern office setting.
