CNC Operator II

Job SummaryThe Machine Operator II is responsible for setting up, operating, and troubleshooting a variety of production equipment and tooling in a manufacturing environment. This role requires a strong focus on safety, quality, productivity, and compliance while performing precision machining operations.Key ResponsibilitiesSet up, operate, and troubleshoot CNC, EDM, and/or ECM machines to perform machining operations, fast-hole drilling, graphite shaping, and related processes on metal castings, forgings, and bar stock. Interpret blueprints, process sheets, and setup instructions to determine machining requirements, dimensions, procedures, and methods. Determine tool lengths, maintain tool change lists, and make program measurement adjustments as needed. Install work-holding devices and tooling using hand tools. Position and secure workpieces manually or with material-handling equipment. Select, install, and sequence tooling and electrodes according to process requirements. Monitor machine controls, feed rates, and machining speeds to ensure adherence to specifications. Verify machine programs at the start of each shift. Perform first-piece inspections and maintain dimensional measurement records. Inspect and document key dimensions using micrometers, calipers, precision gauges, and other measuring instruments. Required QualificationsHigh School Diploma or GED equivalent. Minimum 1 year of experience operating CNC, EDM, ECM machines, tooling production equipment, or equivalent manufacturing machinery. Ability to read and interpret blueprint drawings. Experience using calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring tools. Experience setting up, operating, and troubleshooting CNC, EDM, and/or ECM machines. Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs., with or without reasonable accommodation. Ability to work overtime as needed, including occasional weekends. Must be authorized to work in the United States and meet applicable export control requirements. Preferred QualificationsExperience with computerized shop floor systems and manufacturing tools. Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills. Ability to follow written work instructions and verbal directions in a manufacturing environment. Team-oriented mindset with a positive and collaborative approach. Experience working in a fast-paced production setting.
