Job DetailsDescriptionThis full-time opportunity pays $28-$31 based on experience. The position is fully onsite, Monday through Friday, with some weekends and holidays needed depending on current occupancy and staffing levels.Position SummaryThe Staff Accountant will prepare and maintain financial records to track the organizations assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liabilities, and other related financial activities at Nemacolin.Essential Functions(The following statements are intended as general illustrations of the work in this job class and are not all-inclusive for this position.)Support timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial close, including assigned journal entries, balance sheet account reconciliations, accruals, and overall maintenance of all GL accountsPerforms general ledger account reconciliations, verify accuracy of data, and report, identify, and correct errors made by both internal and external personnelMaintain and update records and reports for profit and loss, taxes, liabilities, and assetProduce daily/monthly reports, which include key metrics, financial results, and variance reporting.Prepare special financial reports as requested by management by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends.Provides supports to all department with general ledger transactions and financial statement.Identify opportunities for process automatization in accounting department.Reconcile transactions by comparing and correcting data.Provides outside auditors with assistance; gathers necessary account information and documents to perform annual audit Provides support with 1099s, W2 and other annual external reporting.Coordinates with software vendor to maintain accounting software systems; recommends updates to enhance the accounting software.Drive process improvement and policy development initiatives that impact the function.Misc. task as assigned by management.Knowledge, Skills And Abilities RequiredStrong working knowledge of ExcelExcellent analytical and problem-solving skills.Attention to accuracy and detail required.Accounting experience is preferred.Must be organized and neat.Must be able to perform independent research.Fast learner, results oriented, self-driven.This job description cannot possibly include a complete comprehensive listing of all the activities, duties or responsibilities that may be require by the organization and/or members of management.
