You will make friends and get to meet new people every day while assisting them in our gift shops.The outgoing and service-oriented Retail Host provides fast and courteous service to our guests interested in purchasing a souvenir to remember their experience.We are currently looking for a:Adventureland Park - Retail Host (16+)Roles & Responsibilities:Welcome and greet all guests with a smile as they enter retail locationsInitiate conversations with guests and assist with any questions they may have regarding our merchandise or souvenirsMaintain a general knowledge of all available merchandise to assist guests with questions regarding our productsMaintain knowledge of current sales and promotions promote these events to prospective guestsAttempt to increase revenue by utilizing various sales techniques, such as suggestive selling or upsellingResolve guest concerns in a courteous and prompt mannerOperate all POS equipment accurately to finalize all purchasesEnsure merchandise is well stocked, organized, and presentable for our guestsEnsure the retail locations are clean and safe for our guestsRefold or rehang clothing items as necessaryAssist managers and supervisors with monitoring inventory control methodsProcess and return damaged merchandise in accordance with company policiesOperate mobile retail carts, when applicableRotate food and beverage products according to department standards and in compliance with health code regulationsSafely and properly use a step ladder to reach higher shelvingRemain vigilant for possible theft from guests or other employeesNotify leadership when supplies are running low such as printer paper, ink pens, trash bags, shopping bags, etc.Report maintenance or safety concerns to a supervisor or manager in a timely mannerAll other duties assigned by leadershipEducation & Experience:No education requiredPrevious retail experience is helpful but not requiredLanguage: Ability to read, write, and speak fluent English Spanish or other bilingual language skills are a plus.Requirements:Must be at least 16 years of age to comply with Iowa Child Labor LawsAbility to work flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidaysMust have reliable transportation to and from your scheduled shiftAbility to comply with all uniform policiesMust possess exceptional customer service skills, with an ability to resolve questions, problems, issues, and concerns in a positive and professional mannerAbility to positively engage with guests to promote sales and customer satisfactionPrevious experience with Point of Sale (POS) technology and PCI compliance a plusAbility to follow direction, multi-task, and work as part of a team as well as independentlyPhysical Requirements:Ability to stand, walk, and remain on feet for majority of the workdayAbility to frequently stoop, twist, kneel, bend, squat, or reach above shouldersAbility to use a step ladder in a safe and proper mannerAbility to carry, push, pull, lift, and hold objects weighing 40 pounds or moreWorking Conditions:This role will be based in one or more retail locations throughout the park, with exposure to both indoor and outdoor environmentsFrequent exposure to the variable outside temperatures, including high heat, cold, direct sun, humidity, dust, rain, snow, ice, and other weather conditionsSome exposure to dust and chemical cleaning agentsTeam member benefits:Working at Adventureland is about making people happy!
