Yard Laborer & Truck Driver

Purpose/ScopeEnsure panels are stored, loaded, and shipped in the correct order; while minimizing risk of injury to personnel or damage to the panels. Our foremost priority is the absolute safety of everyone involved. Each person must do their part in the team effort to promote practices, policies and equipment that enable a safe work environment.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesMake sure there is dunnageSet up the rows you are going to useHook up cables to panelsUnhook cables from panelsMake sure panels are set straight and level with proper dunnage placementLet crane operator know which way to move the panelsEach morning check oil, gas, tires, etc. on truckLoad trucks as soon as the load tickets are given to themLoad trailers for the first round the next dayAssist crane driver in locating panelsWrite down all panel locations (moves, trailers the loads went on, where they are yarded and cast numbers)Pick dunnage up and maintain clean work environmentCheck panels for any damage or for tagsMake sure dunnage is correct when loading and yarding panelsBasic QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalentTruck driving experienceOther Required QualificationsGood people skillsBe able to read a tape measureBe able to read piece drawings and yard location listsBe able to operate necessary yard equipmentPreferred QualificationsUnderstand dunnage placement proceduresPhysical RequirementsPlant/Yard: Move minimum of 50lbs., spatial awareness/depth perception, walk, climb, bend at the waist, reach, forceful use of hand tools, vocal projectionWork EnvironmentPlant/Yard: All types of weather conditions (year-round, Mid-west and Northeast), dirt/dust, noise from heavy machinery/vehicles, vibrations from machinery and vehicles, loud noises, little to no climate control, varying amounts of light, stairs, narrow walkwaysEqual Opportunity Employer/Protected Veterans/Individuals with DisabilitiesThis employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
