Bartender
We are looking for an enthusiastic bartender to join our team at Harper’s Garden. The successful candidate will work well in high volume creative spaces. Bartenders here balance a section of tables, bar guests, and service tickets during their shift. Our drinks rotate on a seasonal basis, bartenders are always involved and encouraged to take part in the menu creation process.ResponsibilitiesReports to work on time according to schedule. The schedule could be revised according to business needs.Adhere to grooming and appearance standards consistently. Staying updated on current menu choices, specialties and menu deviations, knowing if the kitchen staff is running out of any items…etc. Perform opening/closing side work as required behind the barRestock and replenish bar inventory and suppliesPrepare alcohol or non-alcohol beveragesMix ingredients to prepare cocktailsCheck customers’ identification and confirm it meets legal drinking ageGreet all guests warmly with an appropriate greeting. Inform guests of specials or menu changesProvide good customer service in line with restaurant expectations.Take food and beverage orders, enter orders in POS system Deliver food and beverages in a timely matterBartenders are required to answer questions relating to the menu asked by customers.Communication is key to bar jobs. You will need to listen to the customer's order, relay it to the cooks, tell customers about food and drink specialsCommunicating specific customer needs to the managers and/or kitchen Teamwork: Bartenders are part of a team. You will be working with barbacks, servers, other bartenders and cooks to make a great dining experience. Being a team player is essential.Monitor and observe guest experienceObtaining revenues, issuing receipts, accepting payments, returning the change in a timely matterThank guests for their visit and invite them to returnNotify MOD with any guest or employee issuesPerforming basic cleaning tasks as needed or directed by a manager. Be ready and willing to assist fellow bartenders if neededAssisting with special events as needed. Must follow all food and safety HACCP rules and regulationsAttend all scheduled employee meetings Job Qualifications Must be 21 years of ageHigh school diploma or equivalent preferred. 2+ years previous serving experience required. Must have ability to handle money and operate POS systemBe able to safely lift 20 pounds Excellent oral communication skills required. Positive interpersonal skills required. Be able to work in a fast paced environmentMust speak English fluently and be able to write in basic English.
