We are looking for reliable, motivated, pet companions to join our fast-paced, growing Prairie Dog Team in Abilene, Texas.Come see what Prairie Dog Pet Products is all aboutResponsibilities and DutiesThe Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for providing an intermediate level of expertise in responding to work orders, troubleshooting, and performing preventive and corrective maintenance on packaging and production equipment in an industrial environment.Pay rateVaries based on experience and technical abilitiesNight shift and weekend differential payCompany provides all necessary tools and safety PPE.ScheduleMonday- Friday 5-day work schedule, 8-hour shiftsCandidates must be flexible to work daily overtime and 6th day overtime as neededEssential Duties and ResponsibilitiesInspect, diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical and pneumatic systemsThe ability to multi-task repairs and schedule maintenance tasks to ensure job completion.Must have the insight to use other than like-kind components to ensure equipment remains operational.Repair machines and equipment using approved procedures and standards while maintaining safety practices.Respond to Production calls for corrective, preventative, and emergency maintenance.Initiates parts requests for machinesPreventive Maintenance – Inspection, adjustment, cleaning, replacement, realigning, etc.Reads and interprets repair manuals, basic schematics and supervisor/manager's instructions.Assists Technicians with basic maintenance such as sweeping, cleaning, and greasing.Follow Lockout / Tag-out procedures.Communicate with mechanics on other shifts, with verbal and written communications in order to receive and relay specific machine conditions or other information related to the department.Safe and efficient operation of welding machinery, related equipment, saws, grinders, sanders, and hand tools.Must be available to work various shifts and weekendsPunctual and Regular Attendance RequiredQualifications and Skills Minimum 2 years Maintenance Mechanic experience in a production or manufacturing environmentMust be able to use various test equipment such as Multi Meters, Digital Tach and Digital ThermometerMotivated self-starter with the ability to work in a team and independently to achieve team objectives.PLC troubleshooting experience strongly preferredStainless Welding, Lathe and Mill experience is a plusWhy join the Primal Pack?Primal offers great benefits and perks such as: 401k with Company match up to 4%Paid vacation and sick hours.Paid company holidays, 8 per year.Low-cost medical insuranceCompetitive dental, vision, and supplemental insurance.
