Licensed Practical Nurses

Nursing position accountable for administering medication and other prescribed treatments, taking vital signs, assisting with care plan activities, observing and reporting patient conditions and behaviors, and participating in rehabilitation, ambulation, and transfers. Communicates with doctors, patients, and families, and educates patients on care. May provide transport and/or escort to offsite appointments and application of restraints when necessary. Mentors and delegates work to CNAs.The following are common duties which include but are not limited to:Recording the patient's historyGiving medication as prescribed by the physicianTaking vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, and weightBasic wound care including cleaning and bandaging injured areasGiving injections of medicationsProviding immunizationsEntering information into computer systemsEnsuring patients and families understand release instructionsProviding oversight to Nursing Assistive Personnel (NAP)Monitoring fluid/food intake and outputMoving patients safelyObserving patient reactions to medicationsObserving patient mental health statusProviding emotional supportAssisting with daily needs such as bathing and dressingObserving of patients for skin breakdownRequires a Certificate from an Approved School of Nursing, Licensure as an LPN and 0-4 years of experience.recblid vgs9ldqma15r0lzshz2tjxb1juajaa
