Sales Associate / Technical Service Specialist

Job Description This is not a typical retail job. It's a hands-on technical role where you'll learn how to diagnose problems, repair devices, program key fobs, and safely handle and install batteries that power everything from smartphones to vehicles. We're looking for someone who enjoys working with technology, isn't afraid to get their hands dirty, and wants to build real, transferable skills through paid training and certification programs. We provide full training, tools, and safety equipment. Schedule Flexible scheduling available within: • Monday–Saturday: 8:00 AM–7:00 PM • Sunday: 10:00 AM–6:00 PM Role Overview You will help customers solve real problems by providing technical services and product solutions. This role blends customer service, sales, diagnostics, and repair work in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities Customer Service and Sales • Greet customers and assess product and service needs • Explain technical solutions in clear, customer-friendly terms • Recommend products, upgrades, and add-on services • Support retail and commercial sales goals • Accurately process transactions using point-of-sale systems • Answer phones and manage customer inquiries • Maintain a strong customer-first mindset Technical Services (Full Training Provided) • Test, install, and replace batteries, including automotive batteries • Safely lift and install heavier batteries using proper techniques • Diagnose and repair smartphones, tablets, and electronic devices • Perform screen replacements, battery replacements, and component repairs • Cut keys and program automotive key fobs and remotes • Use diagnostic tools, testers, and repair equipment correctly Store Operations • Stock, rotate, and organize inventory • Maintain store displays, pricing labels, and merchandising standards • Assist with deliveries and customer pickups • Open and close the store, including register reconciliation • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workspace • Follow all safety procedures and wear required PPE Qualifications • High school diploma or equivalent preferred • Technical aptitude is required • Comfortable working with tools, small components, and electronic devices • Ability to safely lift and handle automotive batteries and other heavy items • Strong problem-solving and communication skills • Ability to perform basic math and measurements • Valid driver's license required Physical and Work Requirements • Ability to stand and move throughout the workday • Frequent use of hands for fine motor tasks • Regular lifting of up to 50 pounds • Use of hand tools, testing equipment, and electronic repair tools • Exposure to batteries, electrical components, and shop environments • Required use of safety equipment including gloves and eye protection Company Description Batteries Plus is a locally owned business that helps customers keep their homes, cars, and devices running.
