This senior-level role will serve as a primary legal advisor on all employment-related matters across the organization, partnering closely with HR, executive leadership, and business units to navigate complex labor and employment issues in a fast-paced, high-growth technology environment. The ideal candidate brings deep substantive expertise, sound judgment, and a practical, business-oriented mindset.Key ResponsibilitiesAdvise HR and management on a broad range of employment law matters including hiring, performance management, leaves of absence, accommodations, separations, and reductions in forceDraft, review, and negotiate employment agreements, offer letters, separation and severance agreements, NDAs, and independent contractor agreementsDevelop, update, and implement employment policies, handbooks, and compliance and training programs to ensure legal compliance and best practicesManage and oversee employment-related litigation, arbitration, and agency charges (EEOC, NLRB, state agencies), including coordination with outside counselLead internal investigations into employee complaints, including allegations of harassment, discrimination, retaliation, and workplace misconductMonitor and advise on federal, state, and local employment law developments and assess impact on company practices across multiple jurisdictionsPartner with People Operations on compensation, benefits, and equity plan matters, ensuring compliance with applicable wage and hour lawsSupport M&A due diligence and integration activities from an employment law perspectiveProvide training and guidance to HR business partners and managers on employment law topics and risk mitigation strategiesContribute to the broader Legal team on cross-functional projects and company-wide initiativesQualificationsRequiredJuris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school and active bar membership in good standing8+ years of employment law experience, with significant in-house counsel experience or a combination of law firm and in-house rolesDeep expertise in federal and state employment laws (Title VII, ADA, FMLA, FLSA, NLRA, and state equivalents)Demonstrated experience managing employment litigation and agency proceedingsExperience conducting and overseeing workplace investigationsStrong drafting and negotiation skills across a variety of employment-related agreementsAbility to work independently, manage competing priorities, and provide clear, actionable guidance in a dynamic environmentExcellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build trusted relationships across all levels of the organizationPreferredExperience in the technology, financial services, or SaaS industryFamiliarity with employment law considerations in international jurisdictions (UK, India, EU, Hong Kong)Experience supporting M&A transactions from an employment law perspectiveBackground advising on equity compensation and executive employment arrangementsBoise, ID: $100,000 – $140,000Washington, DC: $120,000 – $168,000This is the pay range the Company believes it will pay for this position at the time of this posting. Consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on relevant experience, other job-related qualifications/skills, and geographic location (to account for comparative cost of living). The Company reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time.
