Topside Bridge Assistant
MARLIN is a multidisciplinary engineering firm with affiliate entities providing a range of engineering services, such as roadway design, transportation planning, data analytics, and maintenance operations bridge inspections. MARLIN Operations department is seeking an Assistant Underwater Inspection to add to our team.
Responsibilities:
Assist in conducting safety inspections of assigned bridges and prepare written reports of the conditions of the structures,
Performs in-depth inspections using non-destructive methods, mechanized access equipment, and/or climbing gear,
Performs post-incident bridge inspections to determine severity of damage and recommends appropriate actions with regard to bridge closures and detours;
Coordinates with bridge owners and other agencies on inspections schedules, traffic control, railroad access, navigational channels, etc.
Conceptual through final analysis and design for the rehabilitation of existing bridges and other transportation-related structural systems,
Analysis and load rating of existing bridges and structural systems
Structural inspection of bridges and transportation structures, and the identification and prioritization of repairs
Preparation of final drawings, technical specifications, construction cost estimates and construction schedules for new and rehabilitation of existing bridges and other transportation or facilities related structural systems
Review of construction phase submittals
Preparation and review of technical reports
Review of previous inspection reports and plan field operations
Perform inspection work and compile reports
Direct other field members
Enforce safe operations in field
Liaison with client field/facility staff, assist with critical condition findings
Technical compliance
Qualifications:
Safety and first aid trainings
OSHA 10 and 30 Certification
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Physically capable of performing continuous field work including working at heights and in close quarters, climbing, carrying ladders and gear, working in adverse weather conditions, and diving underwater
