In this role, the individual will support the development of mission software written in Java, C++, Python, ReactJS. The individual will collaborate with cross functional teams and stakeholders to design and implement software solutions, ensure engineering excellence, and achieve program objectives. This position will support the Boeing Defense Services (BDS) business organization.We are seeking Software Engineers-Developers that are passionate about space and excited to work in a multi-disciplined, collaborative engineering environment that supports the design, development, and implementation of software for existing and emerging Boeing commercial and government space programs.This exciting software engineer position requires demonstrated experience within the software ecosystem, a diverse background of project experience, and the clear exhibition of superior judgment and decision making to engineer new solutions and support existing capabilities of multiple software programming projects. Demonstrated critical thinking and troubleshooting skills are required.Position Responsibilities:Design, develop, test, and maintain software throughout the end-to-end lifecycle that meets industry, customer, safety, and regulation standardsDevelop, maintain, enhance, and optimize software products and functionalities for systems integrationsDevelop, document, and maintain architecture, requirements, algorithms, interfaces and designs for software productsParticipate in the agile software development lifecycle including planning, reviews, and supporting customer meetingsDebug and resolve issues identified to ensure reliability and efficiency of software productsPerform software development, participate in code reviews, and adhere to guidance on software standards and design principles.Implement current and emerging technologies, tools, frameworks, and changes in regulations relevant to software developmentDevelop, establish, monitor, and improve software processes, tools, and key performance metrics that align with organization goals and industry benchmarksExecute and document software research and development projectsAdvise on software domains, system-specific issues, processes and regulationsRequired Skills:Bachelor's Degree5+ years of experience in software development.Proficiency in multiple programming languages (e.g., Java, C++, Python, JavaScript) and familiarity with software development methodologies (Agile, Scrum, etc.)Excellent communication skills and experience collaborating with cross-functional teams including systems engineers, hardware engineers, and program managersExperience with unit testing, integration testing, and system-level validation in complex software environmentsAbility to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance (Interim prestart, final post start)Preferred Skills:5+ years of experience developing complex software applications and algorithmic solutions5+ years of experience leading software development5+ years of experience with modern programming and scripting languages such as C++, Java, JavaScript, Perl, Python, Visual Basic1+ years of experience in a cloud computing environment e.g. Azure/AWS/Google CloudKnowledge of software architecture and design methodologies.
