Switchcraft, Inc. is a U.S. manufacturer of harsh environment circular connectors, cable assemblies, and interconnect solutions. Our products are used in a wide variety of industries including medical, aviation, pro audio, and transportation. We are located on the Northwest side of Chicago and currently have an opening for an Assistant Controller The Assistant Controller supports the Controller in managing accounting operations, financial reporting, budgeting, audit readiness, internal controls, and financial analysis. This is a succession-track role intended to prepare the Assistant Controller to assume the Controller position within 6 month – 1 year. Location: Chicago, IL (Jefferson Park) Hours: On Site position M-F 7:30a - 4p Pay: $150,000 Duties/Responsibilities: Support daily accounting operations including general ledger, AP/AR, payroll, fixed assets, and inventory accounting. Assist in monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, financial statements, reconciliations, and reporting. Support budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and KPI reporting. Maintain internal controls and support corporate compliance and audit requirements. Assist with ERP system maintenance, process improvements, and automation initiatives. Collaborate cross-functionally with Operations, Supply Chain, IT, and HR to support financial processes. Provide guidance to accounting staff and assume increasing Controller-level responsibilities over time. Requirements: Strong GAAP knowledge and corporate accounting expertise. Proficiency with ERP systems (Business Central preferred) and Microsoft 365. Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and financial modeling skills. Effective communicator with strong organizational abilities. Detail‑oriented with a continuous‑improvement mindset. Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA preferred). 5–8 years of progressive accounting/finance experience; manufacturing experience preferred. Experience with cost accounting, financial reporting, and budgeting is strongly preferred.
