This role owns project planning, budgeting, scheduling, subcontractor management, and field coordination while maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality. At Scherer Construction, you're not just managing projects - you're building a lasting career with a company that values your expertise and invests in your future.Key ResponsibilitiesLead the full project lifecycle including preconstruction, buyout, scheduling, execution, and closeoutDevelop and manage project budgets, forecasts, cost controls, and change ordersBuild and maintain detailed project schedules; drive look-ahead planning with superintendentsSelect, negotiate, contract, and manage subcontractors and suppliersEnsure compliance with safety regulations, quality standards, and company policiesMaintain proactive and professional communication with clients to foster long-term relationshipsProduce and manage documentation including RFIs, submittals, meeting minutes, pay applications, and project reportingCoordinate closely with field teams to ensure seamless execution and issue resolutionIdentify risks proactively and implement solutions to maintain project performanceQualifications7-10+ years of commercial construction Project Management experience (ground-up required)Proven success delivering projects on schedule and within budgetStrong knowledge of commercial construction processes, contracts, and cost controlsAdvanced computer proficiency, including Excel, Procore, and MS ProjectExcellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skillsEstablished network of subcontractors and industry relationships preferredBachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferredProfessional certifications such as Associate Constructor (AC), Certified Professional Constructor (CPC), or Certified Construction Manager (CCM) are a plusCompensation & BenefitsCompetitive salary: $80,000 - $110,000 per year401(k) with employer matchingPerformance-based bonus opportunitiesWeekly pay cycleMedical, dental, and vision insuranceHealth Savings Account (HSA)Paid Time Off (holidays and vacation)Travel project per diemCareer development and ongoing training (OSHA, fall protection, lift training, manufacturer certifications)Company events and team outingsCar allowance or mileage reimbursementUniform provisionWork ScheduleFull-time positionMonday - FridayAvailability for on-call project-related matters as neededWork LocationBased in St. Petersburg, FLProjects located throughout the Tampa Bay, FL areaRegular local travel required for project oversightEqual Employment OpportunityWe are proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer.
