This role requires a hands-on operator who enforces standards, manages metrics, and owns customer outcomes end-to-end. If you are highly metrics-driven, enforce accountability and operating discipline at all levels, and operate with urgency, structure, and attention to detail, this is a great opportunity to join our team. Responsibilities:Financial PerformanceOwn operational P&L with a focus on gross margin and overall profitabilityDrive pricing, cost discipline, and efficiency improvements through data-driven analysisEstablish and manage a KPI-driven operating model with real-time visibility into margin, service, coverage, and productivityOperational LeadershipEstablish and enforce structured daily, weekly, and monthly operating cadencesLead all day-to-day brokerage operations with a focus on speed, reliability, and consistencyStandardize and enforce SOPs to eliminate variability and enable scalable executionBuild a predictable operating model through routine reviews (coverage, margin, service, exceptions)Team Leadership & DevelopmentBuild and lead a high-performing operations team with clear accountabilitySet performance standards and coach managers to lead through metricsFoster a culture of urgency, ownership, and disciplined executionTechnology & Process OptimizationDrive effective use and continuous improvement of TMS and operational toolsImplement automation and workflow improvements across operations and pricingLeverage data to improve decision-making, visibility, and scalabilityCustomer ExperienceOwn end-to-end customer experience across all shipper accountsEnforce service standards for communication and issue resolutionDrive on-time performance and rapid resolution of service failuresPartner with sales on onboarding and ensure consistent post-sale executionMaintain key customer relationships and implement feedback loops to improve retentionCapacity ManagementBuild, manage, and scale a high-quality, reliable carrier network while ensuring strong coverage performance across all lanesDeploy diverse capacity strategies to maintain service reliabilityCompliance & Risk ManagementEnsure compliance with DOT, FMCSA, and all applicable transportation regulationsOversee claims management, insurance processes, and service failure mitigationProactively identify and manage operational and financial risksQualifications:7 - 15+ years of experience in freight brokerage, logistics, or transportation3 - 5+ years in a senior operations leadership role with P&L responsibilityProven track record of building and scaling high-performance operations teamsDeep understanding of brokerage market dynamicsStrong financial and analytical acumen Leadership ProfileHighly metrics-driven; manages the business through data and performance Enforces accountability and operating discipline at all levelsStrong customer-first mindset with ownership of service outcomesDecisive and comfortable addressing underperformance quicklyOperates with urgency, structure, and attention to detailBalances short-term execution with long-term scalability Total Compensation Package:Competitive base salaryPerformance-based bonus tied to margin, EBITDA, and service metricsEquity or profit-sharing Why CarpoolCarpool is the logistics infrastructure powering the modern automotive industry.
