Carpenter, Bridge Construction
Job Summary
Build, install and repair wooden structures and forms used on bridge construction projects. Travel from jobsite to
jobsite in Iowa, Nebraska, Kansas, Oklahoma, Arkansas or Missouri. Work Monday to Friday, and some weekends,
usually 40-50 hours per week. Overnight stays may be required at company's expense at the company's expense.

Perform carpentry work for pier footings, columns, caps, abutments, decking, intermediate diaphragms, rail and approachRead and understand construction plans and specificationsSelect specified types of lumber and other materials needed to construct formsLayout the form using tape measurers, rulers, framing squares and other toolsMark cutting or assembly lines on material using pencil, chalk or marking gaugeCut and shape forms to specifications using saws, chisels or planeAssemble forms with nails or other fastenersVerify accuracy of form with plumb bob, level or transitWork safely and closely with Form Setter and Cement MasonRead and interpret Safety Data Sheets and container labelsIdentify and communicate safety concerns to management in a timely mannerPerform other duties as assigned by managementEducation, Experience & Certification
High School graduate or G.E.D. preferredTwo years experience in bridge carpentryExperience using mechanical and electrical toolsPhysical
Normal range of vision and hearing (with correction)Effectively work at heightsWalk, stand, climb, bend, kneel, reach, lift and balanceLift up to 50 pounds on a regular basisWork safely in adverse weather conditions including wind, rain, snow, ice, mud, heat, etc.PIf2fb8c23bf47-26289-40068333
