Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

Job Title The incumbent in this job provides nursing services to patients within his or her scope of practice that requires technical knowledge and skills and assists with administrative responsibilities such as record-keeping under the direction of health care providers and registered nurses. The incumbents in this job have routine access to individually health information including the patients' entire medical records on a need-to-know basis only. All employees must understand and exemplify the organization's mission, vision, and core values. Essential Duties/Responsibilities: Prepares examination rooms for patients. Ensures lab slips, x-rays, and diagnostic reports are on the chart at the time of patient visit. Takes and records patients' vital signs. Observes patients and reports adverse reactions to medication or treatment. Assembles and utilizes such equipment as oxygen suppliers, nebulizers, and EKGs. Collects samples of body fluids for routine tests such as blood glucose and urine protein levels. Sterilizes equipment and supplies. Dresses wounds. Administers vaccines, injections, oral medications, nebulizer treatments and oxygen therapy under the providers' orders. Assists providers with procedures. Monitors equipment. Educates patients on health concerns. Inventories and requisitions Provides timely reports and data as requested from supervisor. Qualifications: High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED). Certificate of Completion from an accredited school of nursing or an associate's degree in practical nursing. New Jersey license as a licensed practical nurse. One year experience as an LPN in a healthcare setting preferred. Bilingual capability in any language predominantly spoken by NCHC patients preferred. As a condition of employment, we require that all staff are fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Therefore, all new employees need to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 as well as boosters when eligible, and are required to provide documentation of receiving COVID-19 vaccines.
