The RoleAmphenol Military High Speed is seeking a Design Engineer to work out of itsnew facility in Endicott, NY.The key responsibilities of this Design Engineer include, but are not limitedto:Prepares designs and specifications, assists in generation of layoutsPrepares and checks drawing and processes changes as required for productionand customersAssure form, fit, and function of components through dimensional studies,and correlates engineering data to customer specificationsInterfaces with other departments for the manufacturing and testing ofsamplesInterfaces with customers and vendors to assure conformance to customerspecificationsCoordinates the manufacturing of customer prototypesPerforms the functions required to process estimate requests and marketingproduct requestsPerforms engineering investigations of manufacturing/quality problemsReviews customer documents for compliance with AMHS documents and ifnecessary, prepares new designs to conform to these documentsWorks closely with the Business Development Managers and Product Managers ofvarious business unitsRegularly and proactively communicates with customers, Marketing,Manufacturing, Quality, Process, Purchasing, and experimental personnelLocationEndicott, NYSalary: $62,354 - $85,000The PersonThe key skills and qualities of a Design Engineer at Amphenol Military HighSpeed:Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related fieldExperience in design or design engineeringExperience with AutoCAD and/or Creo is preferredAbility to work from written and oral instruction, with minimum supervisionPossesses a working knowledge of PTC Creo and WindchillAbility to work collaboratively with others on the Design Engineer team toaccomplish required tasks to support the interests of the businessAbility to maintain a dedicated focus on intricate details of engineeringdesignsWillingness to contribute extra effort in support of critical businessopportunitiesProactive periodic communication to manager regarding status of activitiesWilling to travel (15 to 20%)Prolonged periods of sitting and computer usageThe CompanyWith offices in Endicott and Sidney, NY and leveraging manufacturing sites inSidney, NY, Mesa, AZ, and Nogales, MX, Amphenol Military High Speed specializesin rugged high-speed connectors, cables, assemblies, ethernet switches, mediaconverters, and more in copper, fiber optics, or both.
