Railroad Backhoe Operator

Job Description: Backhoe Operator: For this opening, Cleco is seeking candidates with previous backhoe operating experience. This employee will travel to Norfolk Southern locations and provide track repair services, tie installation, and general track maintenance according to the FRA and company regulations. · May be subject to travel to multiple job sites on the East Coast. · Assist in the repairs and maintenance of Norfolk Southern railroad track. · Successfully install railroad ties · Communicate with colleagues, managers, and Norfolk Southern Employees about job progress. · Always maintain a professional and cooperative attitude with colleagues and managers · Completes accurate paperwork weekly. · Turns in required paperwork weekly. · Always keep a clean and well-maintained company vehicle. · Must pass a pre-employment drug screen. · Minimum of three years of experience operating a backhoe. · Class A CDL preferred- (Position could require driving a dump truck/trailer combination) · Railroad Construction Experience preferred · Some mechanical knowledge preferred · Self-Starter able to work with limited supervision and meet deadlines. · Must be willing to travel. (Company covers lodging) · Regular attendance required according to company’s attendance policy. · Good driving record because of the assignment of a company vehicle.
