We are committed to providing superior service and leaving things better than we found them.Job Summary:The Portable Crushing Plant Operator is responsible for the safe, efficient operation and routine maintenance of Metso portable jaw and cone crushing equipment. This employee will start and primarily work in the Wellton, AZ area, but the project spans about 70 linear miles, and some work in the Lukeville, AZ area will be required as needed. This role ensures consistent material production, equipment reliability, and adherence to safety, environmental, and quality standards. The operator performs inspections, adjustments, and minor repairs while coordinating with maintenance, loader operators, and supervisors. This position requires a strong knowledge of equipment operation, adherence to safety standards, and collaboration with the team.Operate Metso portable jaw crushers and cone crushers to meet production targets and material specificationsStart up, shut down, and adjust crushing circuits according to standard operating proceduresMonitor crusher performance, feed rates, and discharge size to maintain optimal efficiencyAdjust jaw settings, cone close side settings (CSS), and feeder speeds as requiredCoordinate with loader and haul truck operators to ensure consistent material flowMaintain proper stockpile management and prevent contaminationPerform daily, weekly, and shift-based inspections on crushing and conveying equipmentConduct routine maintenance including: Lubrication of bearings and moving componentsChecking hydraulic systems, oil levels, and cooling systemsInspecting wear parts (jaw dies, cone liners, mantles, bowls, cheek plates)Replacing screens, belts, rollers, and minor components as neededIdentify abnormal sounds, vibration, or performance issues and take corrective actionAssist maintenance personnel with liner changes, belt repairs, and component replacementDiagnose and correct mechanical issues affecting crusher performanceClear blockages safely and efficiently following lockout/tagout proceduresReport major mechanical or electrical issues to maintenance supervisionReduce unplanned downtime through proactive equipment monitoringStrictly follow all MSHA / OSHA, company, and site-specific safety policiesPerform and document pre shift and post shift equipment inspectionsExecute lockout/tagout procedures prior to maintenance or repairsMaintain housekeeping around the crusher, walkways, and work areasParticipate in safety meetings, job hazard analyses, and training sessionsComplete daily production, maintenance, and inspection reportsCommunicate equipment status and production issues to supervisors and crewTrack wear part usage and notify management of replacement needsMaintain high equipment uptime and production qualityMinimize downtime through proactive maintenance and attention to detailDemonstrate safe work habits and leadership by exampleMaintain accurate records and clear communicationRequirements and Education:2+ years of experience operating portable crushing equipmentExperience in aggregate, mining, quarrying, or construction materials environmentsUnderstanding of crushing theory and material flowMechanical aptitude with ability to perform basic repairsKnowledge of hydraulic, lubrication, and conveyor systemsAbility to read equipment manuals, diagrams, and maintenance schedulesStrong focus on safety and hazard awarenessWorking Environment & Conditions:Works primarily outdoors at construction sites, exposed to various weather conditionsMay encounter hazardous materials or other safety considerationsPhysical demands include standing, walking, lifting heavy objects, and operating equipment for extended periodsMay be required to work flexible hours or shifts based on project needsPhysical & Mental Requirements:Physical requirements include lifting and carrying heavy objects, climbing, bending, and operating machineryMental demands may include working under pressure, managing multiple tasks, and adapting to changing project requirementsAbility to work in various weather conditions, such as heat, cold, rain, or snowPreferred Requirements and Education:Hands-on experience with Metso jaw and/or cone crushers preferredMSHA, heavy equipment operation, LOTO, and welding training are all preferredEEO StatementAIS Infrastructure Group is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
