This hands-on role supports daily operations in our well-equipped facility, ensuring optimal performance, safety, and compliance.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESMaintenance & RepairDiagnose and repair diesel engines, transmissions, brakes, and hydraulicsPerform preventive maintenance and emergency field repairsRun diagnostic tests and verify repairs through test drivesEnsure equipment meets performance and safety standardsAdvanced Technical WorkTroubleshoot electrical systems and use diagnostic softwareService aerial lifts, chippers, stump grindersExecute major repairs: engine rebuilds, transmission overhauls, hydraulicsConduct DOT inspections and maintain complianceShop OperationsMaintain service records and manage parts inventoryOrder/install parts and maintain organized workspacesCollaborate with crews on equipment performance and upgradesSKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONSRequired3+ years of experience with heavy equipment or diesel vehiclesDeep knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systemsSkilled in using diagnostic software and toolsValid driver's license and clean MVRAbility to read schematics and technical documentsEssential SkillsStrong diagnostic and repair problem-solvingExperience using power and hand toolsDetail-oriented with high-quality standardsEffective communicator with crews and managersProficient with computer-based diagnostics and logsPhysically able to lift heavy items and work outdoorsPreferredVocational diesel mechanic training or ASE certificationExperience with tree equipment (chippers, lifts, grinders)DOT inspection certificationSpecialized hydraulic system repair experiencePre-Employment Requirements: This position requires successful completion of pre-employment screening, including but not limited to: background verification, and motor vehicle record review.
