Waste Technician III

ELOS Environmental, an Aventia Company, is seeking a Waste Technician for our Waste Management Services Department within the Chalmette Refinery. A drug screening will be required for this position.Essential Job DutiesSupport ELOS’ Waste Management Team within the Chalmette RefineryOperating a forklift throughout the refinery to assist in the disposal of wastePerform other duties as assigned by the project managerPhysical RequirementsThe employee must meet physical requirements including but not limited to, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, climbing up/down ladders and stairs, negotiating uneven and moving surfacesAbility to lift up to 50 poundsTruck Loading and Unloading: Loading and unloading goods from trucks & trailersMoving materials, including pallets, crates, and other items, around the refineryAbility to climb ladders 15 feetMaintaining a clean and organized work areaAdhering to all safety procedures and regulationsDEFENSIVE DRIVING/OPERATING Plan aheadConstantly monitor operations and scan surroundingsProtect yourself and othersEliminate distractionsAnticipate, recognize, and avoid potential hazards/obstructions such as:workersunderground and overhead utilitiesother equipment or vehiclesfalling objectsQualificationsMINIMUM REQUIREMENTSHigh School Diploma or GEDTransportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) is requiredMust have experience with operating a forkliftMust have strong communication skills (in person and via radio and phone)Ability to work as a member of a teamSelf-motivated and able to work independently as necessaryMust be capable of completing daily and weekly assignments on scheduleMust be able to pass a drug screening prior to and during employment (subject to random drug testing)Ability to transition from one assignment to another on short noticeMust have a positive working attitudeWilling to work in all weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, etc.)Job Type: Full-timeBenefitsDental insuranceHealth insuranceLife insurancePaid time offVision insurance401(K) MatchingScheduleMonday to FridayWork Location: On Site
