Visual Arts Teacher (K-8)
Job Description:The Visual Arts teacher will need be responsible for organizing and maintaining a safe classroom environment ensuring curriculum is aligned with the Public Schools of Brookline K-8 Visual Arts Learning Expectations.Duties include but are not limited to:* Creating developmentally appropriate challenges, instruction and processes that require strong habits of mind, support diverse leaning styles, and provide opportunities for students to work independently and collaborativelyRequirements Qualifications:Highly qualified visual arts educator with strong studio skillsWell-developed understanding of the art-making processes, qualities, and techniques to teach in a K-8 elementary visual arts programThorough knowledge of how diverse learners acquire and develop an understanding of the visual artsAbility to reflect on personal learning through the analysis of one's teaching practice, student learning data, and the teaching practices of othersAbility to be open to constructive critique of supervisors, administrators, and colleaguesAbility to collaborate with all facultyBachelor's DegreeDESE certification in Visual Arts, K-8Preferred Qualifications:* Master's Degree* Experience teaching Studio Habits of MindThe Public Schools of Brookline is especially interested in qualified candidates who can contribute through their teaching or practice to the diversity and excellence of the PSB community.The Public Schools of Brookline is an equal opportunity/affirmative action employer.
