You will be responsible for ensuring all applicable registration and financially related data is captured accurately for a growing and mission-driven organization. You'll be part of a team that thrives on collaboration, novel thinking and transformation.What You Will Do:1. Welcome all patients to the health center2. Performs billing and bookkeeping functions, including collection of co-payments, and providing receipts, posting, and balancing daily sheets and day end reconciliation to assure accuracy.3. Updates insurance information when appropriate.4. Verifies insurance enrollment, eligibility, benefits and out of pocket responsibility.5. Upon patient check out, lab orders will be printed, and referrals will be given.6. Schedules return appointments in compliance with current policy.7. Obtains Consent for Medical Treatment and Release of Medical RecordsInformation.8. Accurately completes computer data entry.9. Works in an organized, efficient manner so as to keep a smooth and orderly flow of patients moving in and out of the medical office.10. Maintains a file system necessary for proper organization of work.11. Scans all documents.12. Obtains necessary patient release forms in accordance with patient confidentiality andmedical release policies.13. Reports any patient complaints to the Patient Registration Manager.14. Makes patient calls as directed by the physicians/providers and Nurse Manager.15. Records and affixes all incoming correspondence, mail results, medical documents, etc. to appropriate department.16. Daily cancellation and reschedule of patients, due to emergencies or staffingissues as directed by the Nurse Manager/Patient Registration Manager.17. Confirms appointments as needed.18. Responsible to answer in-coming telephone calls, take accurate messages and distribute to appropriate party.What you Bring:A passion to help patientsHigh School Diploma or equivalent requiredMinimum of five (5) years of continuous experience in a medical outpatient setting requiredPrior experience in a front desk, medical receptionist, or patient access role requiredKnowledge of medical terminology, insurance verification, and scheduling systems preferredStrong customer service, communication, and organizational skills requiredProficiency with EHR systems and Microsoft Office preferredBilingual in English/Spanish strongly preferredProfessional attitude and appearanceInterpersonal skillsAbility to use Positive LanguageExceptional verbal and written communication skillsCreativity and resourcefulnessReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform their essential functions, as required under the Americans With Disabilities Act ("ADA") or other applicable state/local law.Schedule:Up to 20 hours per week, PRN/as needed based on operational needsFlexibility required, including evenings and occasional SaturdaysUp to 20 hours per week
