Principal Electrical/Electronics Systems Engineer

Apogee Global RMS is seeking a Principal Electrical/Electronics Systems Engineer to support NSWCPD and NAVSEA engineering, modernization, and HM&E system initiatives. This EE4‑level Key Personnel role provides senior‑level technical leadership across shipboard electrical, mechanical, and thermal systems, ensuring engineering rigor, integration discipline, and alignment with Navy technical standards.The engineer will support system design, integration, testing, documentation, and change package development for Navy platforms and land‑based engineering sites.Core Responsibilities:Lead engineering efforts for shipboard electrical and electronics systems, including power distribution, control systems, and HM&E subsystemsSupport design, analysis, and integration of mechanical, electrical, and thermal shipboard systemsConduct systems engineering, integration, testing, troubleshooting, and performance assessmentsDevelop, review, and validate technical documentation, including drawings, specifications, plans, and proceduresSupport Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs) and Ship Change Documents (SCDs)Provide hardware/software installation planning, configuration, and integration supportCoordinate with Government engineers, platform teams, and technical authorities to ensure compliance with NAVSEA and NSWCPD requirementsParticipate in shipboard, land‑based, and test‑site engineering activities as requiredRequirementsRequired Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related engineering discipline from an ABET‑accredited institution10+ years of engineering experience, including:7+ years in shipboard mechanical, electrical, and thermal system design and engineeringShipboard electrical/electronics systems engineeringHM&E systems experienceElectrical power distribution and control systemsSystems engineering, integration, testing, and assessmentDemonstrated experience developing and reviewing technical documentation, drawings, and engineering packagesAbility to support hardware/software installation planning and integration activitiesEligibility for Government facility/network access; Tier 3 investigation required for DON system accessPreferred Skills & Experience:Experience with NAVSEA, NSWCPD, Navy vessels, or land‑based engineering sitesFamiliarity with:AFLOAT networksMachinery control systemsCANES/CATNIPElectric plant controlsAEGIS interfacesActive DoD clearance (Secret or higher)BenefitsWhy Apogee:Apogee supporting federal programs in this Top Tier engagement where compliance maturity directly impacts contract eligibility, mission readiness, and national‑level defense outcomes.
