CDL Delivery Driver

CDL Delivery DriverThe Delivery Driver (with CDL) is responsible for the safe and timely delivery and service of all products sold within assigned route and the operation of a commercial motor vehicle to reach all customer locations. The Delivery Driver must understand all company policies and procedures. Delivery Drivers generally operate as one-person units. This is a salary exempt position that is not subject to overtime calculations and can average 40-50 hours per week. For DOT tracking purposes, the employee reports hours in the time & attendance system. This position reports directly to the Delivery Manager.Primary Objectives & Essential Functions:Vehicle & DOT Requirements Fill out pre & post trips each dayCheck load security, verify inventory, check equipment including pallet jacks and sledsFollow safety policies and proceduresFollow check-in and check-out policies and proceduresMaintain clean truck and trailerDelivery Functions Follow route sequenceDeliver and rotate productPick up empties, damages, and OOC productCommunicate delivery issues with Sales RepExecute invoice and payment transaction proceduresFollow policy and procedure for refusal/undelivered stopsFollow end of day procedures including proving A/R, inventory, handling out of date product, etc.Review orders before and after delivery to ensure that orders are complete, charges are correct, and customer is satisfiedLoad Detail Responsibilities Level product during dayMinimize BreakageThe Delivery Driver assumes other responsibilities as assigned by Delivery Manager, Delivery Assistants, VPs, Branch Manager, and ownership. These responsibilities and objectives include but are not limited to:AttendanceAppearanceProfessionalismRetailer Satisfaction Performance (SSM)All other duties as assignedDevelopment of Delivery DriverParticipate in company and team meetingsContinued education programs when necessary BrewU courses related to job function and safetyDelivery Driver RequirementsAbility to communicate orally or in written form effectively with customers.Maintain a smartphone with data plan capable of operating delivery softwareKnowledge of company objectivesExcellent interpersonal & customer service skillsAbility to read and understand merchandise pricing and invoicingExcellent computer skills in all applicable programsAbility to anticipate and solve practical problems or resolve issuesCertificates, Licenses, RegistrationsPossess and maintain a clean commercial (Class A) Driver License in accordance with DOT regulations for operating the delivery vehicleDriving record free of significant violations that meets company policies and standards for a minimum of 60 monthsAttend driver safety coursesPossess and maintain an ABC Permit for the purpose of peddling alcoholic productsEducation and Experience3-5 years of experience with material delivery or distributionHigh School Diploma or EquivalentPhysical DemandsThese physical demands are representative of the physical requirements necessary for an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the Delivery Driver job. The employee is required to lift a minimum weight of 50 pounds unassisted, and repeatedly throughout the course of the day. In addition, they are required to functionally lift and/or maneuver up to 165 pounds and transport with the assistance of a hand truck or lifting implement. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high. While performing duties of this job in the field environment, the employee will be exposed on a regular basis to moving mechanical parts, motor vehicles and traffic. In addition, the exposure while in customer locations cannot be projected. These conditions may vary, and the employee will receive adequate training to recognize and avoid hazards that cannot be described as expected. Noise levels will range from quiet to loud.
