Hotel General Manager

Our Client, a NYC Midtown-based Real Estate Owner, seeks a Hotel General Manager (GM) for a mid-size hotel property. The Hotel is located on the Lower East Side.The GM oversees all property operations, directly influencing financial performance, guest satisfaction, and staff development. They act as the primary liaison between property ownership and hotel staff, driving strategic goals while maintaining day-to-day quality assurance.Responsibilities: Operations ManagementOversee all departments, including front desk, housekeeping, food and beverage, and maintenance to ensure seamless, day-to-day functionality.Conduct daily or weekly property walkthroughs to monitor quality standards and the physical upkeep of the building.Handle escalated guest complaints and ensure high-level customer satisfaction. Financial ManagementAssume full profit and loss (P&L) responsibility, managing revenue targets, operating budgets, and forecasting.Analyze performance metrics and implement cost-saving measures without compromising the guest experience.Coordinate with ownership or management companies to plan capital improvements. Human Resources & LeadershipRecruit, train, and develop department heads and general staff to maintain optimal staffing levels.Conduct performance evaluations and foster a positive workplace culture to reduce employee turnover. Sales, Marketing & Brand StrategyCollaborate with sales and marketing teams to increase occupancy rates and drive revenue.Identify ideal client demographics, launch targeted campaigns, and act as a brand ambassador in the local market. Compliance & SafetyEnsure the hotel operates in strict compliance with health, safety, security, and licensing regulations.Ensure building and staff procedures align with all local and federal labor and hospitality laws.
