Engineering Technician

Job Title: Engineering TechnicianLocation: Minnetonka, MN (Onsite)Employment Type: Contract (W2)Duration: 7-Month Contract (Possible Conversion/Extension)Shift: 2:30 PM – 1:30 AM (10-hour shifts, 4 days/week + OT on Fridays based on production needs)Job Summary:The Engineering Technician supports manufacturing line operations in a cleanroom environment, working closely with engineers and production teams to ensure efficient, compliant, and uninterrupted production. This role emphasizes strong communication, coachability, and basic technical aptitude, with significant hands-on involvement on the production floor. It is a high-priority position with immediate hiring needs and strong potential for full-time conversion based on performance.Responsibilities:• Support daily manufacturing line operations to ensure smooth production flow• Collaborate with engineers and operators to troubleshoot and resolve process issues• Follow work instructions, control plans, routing, and standard operating procedures (SOPs)• Perform basic troubleshooting, data collection, and process monitoring• Assist in process improvements and continuous improvement initiatives• Maintain accurate documentation and support production records• Work extensively on the production floor (approximately 60%) in a cleanroom environment using PPE• Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and operational standardsRequired Qualifications:• Technical Diploma, Associate Degree, or Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field• 0–5 years of manufacturing or technical experience• Strong communication and interpersonal skills• Ability to read and interpret work instructions and technical documentation• Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and production flow• Hands-on familiarity with basic tools such as multimeters and measurement instruments• High reliability, accountability, and willingness to learnPreferred Qualifications:• Internship, co-op, or hands-on manufacturing experience• Exposure to lean manufacturing or process improvement methodologies• Basic knowledge of root cause analysis and problem-solving techniques• Experience in assembly, production, or technician roles• Medical device industry experienceSalary:The hourly rate for this position is competitive and based on experience.Benefits:This is a contract position and may not include employer-provided benefits.Equal Opportunity Employer:We are an Equal Opportunity Employer.
